Kelowna's Inn From the Cold shelter developed a signature fundraising event four years ago that has become one of the cornerstones of their financial year: The Push to End Homelessness commemorates the passing of Arthur Cottie, a one-time a client of the shelter, and celebrates the work that the organization does as well as thanks its volunteers. Participants decorate shopping carts at Inn From the Cold before the race begin and then they push their carts around downtown Kelowna, completing "Minute to Win It"-style challenges along the way. It's a festive event that concludes with live music, a barbecue lunch, and a lot of smiling faces. Lauren Hjalmarson has the story.
