Woman Killed After Being Struck by Trailer in Kelowna

A female pedestrian was killed after being struck with a trailer on Lakeshore Road.

Witnesses say that a grey Chevy pick-up truck was pulling a trailer north on the 3100 block of Lakeshore Road when it hit the 40-year-old woman with the trailer. Kelowna RCMP report that the driver of the truck was the woman’s husband.

The woman suffered fatal injuries in the collision, and she died at the scene.

“The investigation continues with respect to the totality of the circumstances,” says Sgt Patricia Cook of Kelowna Municipal Traffic Services. “The Traffic Reconstructionist and Coroner attended to examine the scene and more will be known following the conclusion of their investigation.”

The woman’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
