Kelowna RCMP Officer Injured by His Own Gun

An investigation is ongoing after a member of the Kelowna RCMP took a shot from his own gun.

On Friday night at about 6:10 p.m., the officer was responding to a break and enter in progress. During that time, the officer’s gun discharged and caused him minor injuries.

“A through and complete investigation is being conducted to determine what occurred,” said Sgt Mona Kaufeld. “Until we can determine what happened, no further information will be released.”

RCMP say that the public was not at risk at any time.
