A new extended medical treatment facility is expected to add to Kelowna’s growing medical community and will also preserve a little bit of our city's history, as the proposed development will incorporate the historic Collett Manor.
The four-storey facility will include a residential portion and a medical portion, catering to individuals who require both short- and long-term stays. A total of 41 units will be constructed, varying from studio apartments to two-bedroom homes.

The 6,590 square meter complex will be located on the east side of Pandosy Street between Glenwood Avenue and Royal Avenue. All residential units will come equipped with a terrace or balcony, and underground parking will be available. Moreover, development also includes a comprehensive landscaping design.

The medical portion of the complex will include a doctor’s office, clinics, a pharmacy, a medical/health retail store, and a café.
According to City Staff, the facility will provide an alternative to motels, hotels, and bed and breakfasts where medical services are not available. For example, patients and family members who travel to Kelowna to receive medical care, or those who wish to stay in close proximity to the hospital, could utilize the services of this medical facility.
The proposed building will also be designed and built to the WELL Building Standard, meaning that the facility will be focused exclusively on human health and wellness. Should development move forward as planned, Collett Manor would be the first WELL-certified development in Canada.
“I believe that this is a good project for the area, very complementary,” said Mayor Colin Basran.
City Council approved the development permit on Monday; Councillor Charlie Hodge was the only Councillor opposed to the project.
