The Kelowna Habitat for Humanity is in urgent need of volunteers to help out for a few hours on Tuesday and Wednesday as they work on a duplex project in Peachland.
The organization is currently building three duplexes in Peachland as part of their homeownership program, which builds affordable homes for families currently living in unsuitable housing. According to Executive Director Debra Guthrie, the organization just found out Monday morning that a load of gravel would be arriving on site, but they need volunteers to help shovel and rake.
“We only need about six people to come and lend a hand,” said Guthrie. “They don’t need experience; they only need to be able to shovel!”
Guthrie says they will be on the work site at 9:00 a.m. and will be there until around 3:00 p.m. and hope that volunteers can donate any amount of time to come and help out.
