If you’re driving to Kelowna General Hospital, you’ll want to look out for a long-term closure on Rose Avenue.

The road will be closed starting Monday, July 13th through to early September between Pandosy Street and Richter Street. This closure is for utility upgrades for the Richter Street/Rose Avenue realignment. Improvements in this phase of construction include turning lanes, bike lanes, traffic and pedestrian signals, and curb and sidewalk.

Vehicles will be able to get to rear lanes and Speer Street via Royal Avenue. Those who have residential parking permits for Rose Avenue will be getting a dedicated section on Speer Street. Officials ask that residents and visitors use the rear lane for parking if possible.

Pedestrians will still be able to cross and walk along Rose Avenue from Richter to Pandosy. If you’re visiting the area, pay attention to pedestrian escorts and obey site safety personnel.

The City of Kelowna thanks residents, businesses, and motorists for their patience during the construction season.
