Around 8:55 a.m., witnesses called Kelowna RCMP after seeing what appeared to be an intoxicated man doing donuts near the downtown pier. According to our KelownaNow reporter on the scene, the man was with two dogs at the time of the incident. He was belligerent to people on the marina and threw money around while screaming obscenities.

With his music blaring, the man was shirtless without a life jacket, and he was seen spinning around on the lake near the logs. Marina staff tried to assist the man, but he refused help and screamed at anyone who came near him.

Police arrived around 9:30 a.m. and a short struggle ensued before the man was arrested. There is no word yet as to whether or not the man will face any charges related to the incident.

Correction:

The previous version of this story indicated that the man's boat had sunk, but that was not the case. Another boat near the incident sunk around the same time and it was reported erroneously that it was the same boat involved in this incident.
