Closure on Bernard for Funky New Arts Festival

Drivers going through downtown Kelowna on Thursday will want to watch out for a road closure.

Festivals Kelowna is having its newest festival, Arts on the Avenue, on Thursday, July 30th. Bringing art to the streets, Arts on the Avenue feature exhibitions and demonstrations as well as performance art installations.

For the event, a portion of Bernard Avenue will be closed to vehicles from 1 p.m. until midnight on Thursday. The planned closure is on Bernard from Water Street to Pandosy Street, but intersections won’t be affected.

You should also be aware of restricted parking in that portion of Bernard, as well as partially restricted parking on Water Street from Bernard Avenue to Lawrence Avenue starting at 11 a.m.

There will be parking at the Library Parkade on Ellis as well as the Chapman Parkade on Lawrence.

Transit bus #1 will have to be rerouted off Bernard for the closure, and you can check BC Transit’s website under Kelowna for route and schedule information.
