There’s great news for motorists Tuesday afternoon as gas prices in Kelowna are dropping.

Prices in the Okanagan as of Tuesday morning were as high as 132.9 per litre, but according to GasBuddy.com those prices are dropping to as low as 126.9 per litre. A few gas stations are still reporting the more expensive price for a litre of gasoline, but they are expected to follow the price drop found at most other stations.

It’s no surprise that prices are dropping as summer comes to an end, the lagging Canadian dollar, and demand lessening in the United States contributes to the changes.

The current average price for gasoline in the province is 125.2 per litre, while the national average is 112.1 per litre. At closing on Tuesday the price of oil was $39.1 US per barrel.
