New Direct Flight From Kelowna to Victoria Announced

Between catching the ferry and spending hours on the road, driving all the way out to Vancouver Island can be a bit of a pain.

Coming into effect on Tuesday, October 27th, 2015, those wishing to visit the capital will have the option of flying instead of driving.

Announced on Tuesday, Pacific Coastal Airlines introduced a new route from Victoria to Kelowna to its network.

The flight will operate seven days a week using a Saab 340 aircraft, which can comfortably accommodate 30-34 passengers.

Return flights from Kelowna to Victoria will run twice daily Monday through Friday, with one flight a day on Saturday and Sunday.

Monday through Friday, a non-stop flight from Victoria to Kelowna will run at 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and a non-stop flight from Kelowna to Victoria will depart at 9:00 a.m. and 6:55 p.m.

On Saturdays, flights from Victoria to Kelowna will take off at 8:15 a.m., and will leave Kelowna for Victoria at 9:45 a.m.

 “We believe there is significant market opportunity for this new route and that these new non-stop flights will be well received in both communities and the surrounding areas,” said V.P. of Commercial Services, Spencer Smith. “We expect to see a healthy mix of both business and leisure travellers on this scheduled service.”

According to YLW, pricing for the one hour and five minute flight will start from $147.
