Okanagan residents are encouraged to take part in the annual Cruisin’ to End MS day at local A&W locations on August 27th.

For the 7th year in a row A&W restaurants across Canada will host its annual event in support of the MS Society of Canada. An estimated 840 restaurants across the country will take part in the event which sees one dollar from every Teen Burger and Double Teen Burger donated to the cause.

Many locations will host events throughout the day including classic car rallies, an appearance by the Root Bear, raffles, and more. Classic cars and events will be on display on Thursday at the A&W location at the Capri Centre, located at 1799 Gordon Drive in Kelowna.

Canada has the highest rate of multiple sclerosis in the world. MS is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system comprising the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerve. It is one of the most common neurological diseases affecting young adults in Canada.

To date, A&W has raised more than $6.5 million through the Cruisin’ to End MS event which has supported research projects.
