Laundry Worker Injured at Kelowna General Hospital

A Kelowna General Hospital employee is recovering following a serious work place accident that left them injured.

According to Alan Davies, Regional Director of Support Services, the accident occurred on Friday, August 21st in the laundry services department.

“Our thoughts are with our employee and their family during this time, and we wish them well with their recovery,” added Davies.

No other details were released from Interior Health regarding the incident.

Interior Health is working with WorkSafe BC regarding the incident and will be conducting a review to prevent the accident from occurring in the future.

WorkSafe BC has confirmed that an investigation and inspection has been undertaken regarding the incident and a report will be released with more information.

KelownaNow has reached out to the Freedom and Information Office to receive the WorkSafe BC inspection report.
