More than nine million dollars will be poured into lobby renovations at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort and Conference Centre in Kelowna.

The hotel announced on Tuesday that $9.4 million will be spent on a new restaurant and wine bar. The new restaurant will be designed by world class designers Mackay Wong and will consist of 263 seats. The wine bar will draw inspiration from local farmers and producers in the Okanagan Valley. This will include showcasing local wineries, craft distilleries and breweries, and feature an outdoor patio overlooking Okanagan Lake.

“This highly anticipated renovation will assist in repositioning our resort on the global stage, and elevate our position as the premiere waterfront resort and conference centre in Canada.” said Daniel Bibby, General Manager.  “Our Executive Chef Iain Rennie and his talented culinary team are very excited to launch a new concept that highlights the bounty and creativity of the Okanagan Valley.”

Award winning and locally based Edgecombe Builders are leading the construction project. The redesigned lobby will open in March with the restaurant and wine bar opening towards the end of May. The upgrades will see a complete redesign of the current restaurant, The Grand Cafe, which is located in the lobby of the hotel.
