Kelowna's Kelsey Serwa Invited to X Games in Aspen

Kelowna’s Kelsey Serwa has been invited to participate in the upcoming X Games in Aspen at the end of January.

Serwa,  an Olympic medalist and Canadian ski cross team, member made the announcement via social media on Wednesday. “Heck yes!” exclaimed Serwa as she posted the invitation to the games via Facebook.

The games will take place in Aspen from January 28th to 31st and will feature some of the best athletes in the world. More than 200 world-class athletes will compete for medals and prize money, while internationally-celebrated acts entertain the crowds on the main stage. This will be the 15th year the games have taken place in Aspen, Colorado and they will be covered live on ESPN and ABC.

Just this month, the 26-year-old took home a silver medal at the World Cup Ski cross circuit event in Innechen, Italy. Serwa was coming off an extended break as she recovered from lingering injuries.

Residents will be able to tune in to watch Serwa complete and will be able to find times and listings closer to the date on the X Games website.
