25-Year-Old Man Beaten at Kelowna Green-Way

A man is recovering from serious injuries after being involved in a bizarre Kelowna fight.

On February 7th a man was out walking his pet dog and pig on a downtown green-way when he was involved in an verbal fight with a woman he walked by.

After speaking to the woman inappropriately the man grabbed the woman’s arm. The woman left the man and returned to her vehicle, where she told another man, who was waiting at the vehicle about the situation. Police believe that the male was a family member of hers.

The suspect then confronted the man who grabbed the woman, and a physical fight started. The suspect allegedly struck the victim in the face multiple times. The 26-year-old woman tried to separate the two men, but was unsuccessful.

During the fight both men ended up on the ground and that is when the woman’s dog bit the victim several times.

The suspect and the woman fled the scene after the fight. The 55-year-old man was identified, arrested, and questioned by police officers on Tuesday. He faces potential charges of assault causing bodily harm.

The 25-year-old victim was looked after by Emergency Health Services and released at the park. Police said the man has serious facial injuries and multiple apparent dog bites.

The suspect will appear in court on May 9th
