It was a big day for a team of paddlers from Kelowna when they finished in the top three on the international stage.

The team of four from the Okanagan Dragon Boat Racing Club recently returned from competing at Club Crew World Championships in Adelaide, Australia.

Jeremy and Kelsey Siddall, Barbara Rigg, and Vicki Marrs earned themselves bronze medals in the 2,000-metre event.  This was the 10th International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships, with 91 clubs, 16 countries, and 2,500 athletes participating.

The local racing club is always looking for new paddlers to join both its recreational or competitive programs.  If interested visit the club's website. Any level of paddler, from brand new to experienced, can drop in for up to two free practices.

The club has all-women teams, mixed teams and youth teams.

The next Club Crew World Championships will be held in Hungary in 2018.
