Keith Urban coming to Kelowna for the first time

Country super star Keith Urban will be cruising into the Okanagan this fall as part of his latest world tour.

Urban’s ripCORD World Tour 2016 will feature Dallas Smith and Maren Morris.

Pre-sale will begin for fan club members online May 3 at 10 a.m. and tickets will go on sale to the public on May 6, also at 10.

Urban is well known for his energetic live performers, giving fans eye-opening experiences and unpredictable shows.

Many have labelled Urban’s show “unmissable,” with performances of many of his 20 number one songs.

The tour will kick off September 10 in Vancouver, with a stop in Kelowna on September 11.

This will be the first time the Grammy Award winner will perform in Kelowna.

“Our Canadian shows have always been off the hook giant parties,” said Urban. “From the very first shows I ever did, there was a synergy with the audience that’s only grown stronger over the years.

“I can’t wait to bring the ‘ripCORD World Tour’ to everyone this year.”

Urban’s opening act Dallas Smith is a star in his own right. Having just won the Juno for Country Album of the Year, the Vancouver native has gotten more airplay than most Canadian country singers with his single, Wastin’ Gas. 

The ‘ripCORD World Tour 2016’ will now visit three countries including the United States, Canada and Australia. Ripcord, the album will be available beginning Friday, May 6.

The Kelowna show at Prospera Place with get going at 7:30 p.m.
