Okanagan athletes bring home gold from Texas

An acrobatic gymnastics team from Kelowna recently returned from the Texas State Championships with a number of medals.

The team, from Okanagan Gymnastics, was coached by Shawna Peters, and represented not only British Columbia but Canada as well.

The final standings were as follows:

Jackson Peters and Sadie Mamchur competed in the level 10 Mixed Pair and won gold with a score of 48.95.
 
Shaylyn To and Erica Sproule competed in the level 9 woman's pair, finishing in sixth place scoring 42.60.


Kirsty Marshall, Brie-Lynn Sargeant and Megan Bailie competed in the level 8 trio category winning a bronze medal with a score of 45.85.
 
Jacob Wong & Jade Nyrose competed in the level 7 Mixed Pair, winning a silver medal after scoring 22.80.

Ava Clark and Sara Ross competed in the level 7 age group 14-15 and won silver with a score of 23.75.
 
Brie-Lynn Sargeant and Megan Bailie level 7 won silver scoring 23.70 and Kirsty Marshall and Charli Hall also level 7 came in sixth scoring 21.90.
