For youth ages 12-18, a new summer camp might be exactly what they hoped for this summer.

Elevation Outdoors and the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs have teamed up to offer the “Intro to Adventure” summer camp program.

These camps, running until Aug. 15, and will provide campers with three days of activities; one day of sailing, one day of mountain biking and one day of rock climbing.

All the required gear and instruction needed will be supplied at the camp, making the activities affordable and accessible to everyone.

Mike Greer, executive director of Elevation Outdoors, is excited to host the summer camp in the Okanagan.

“With so many great outdoor opportunities at our doorstep we hope to be able to help introduce young people to a new passion for many years to come,” Greer said. “To have the opportunity to team up with the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs has been amazing.

“Their extensive experience with summer camps has allowed us to move forward with the “Intro to Adventure” program much sooner than we ever anticipated.”

The camps cater to participants with little to no experience with each sport and will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week, except for camp the week of Aug. 1, which will run on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

All proceeds from “Intro to Adventure” go to Elevation Outdoors charity to support their free programs offered during the school year for local at-risk youth and their families.
