On Saturday afternoon,  The BC Tree Fruits Market celebrated its 2nd anniversary in its new location by supplying customers with some tasty samples, smiles, and delicious locally grown tree fruit.

After decades of being at their smaller location, the market decided to expand. The move has allowed them to provide a larger stock of their fantastic fruit as well as showcase some other local suppliers to promote supporting the local community, as well as buying organic.

With such strong community ties and friendly employees you couldn’t help but feel at home while browsing around the market. In addition to the welcoming environment, shoppers also got treated to some magnificent samples from some of the local suppliers. From chocolate covered cherries to vegan nut burgers and jalapeno, peach jelly the market made sure you didn’t go hungry while shopping.

A couple of the Kelowna Rockets even made an appearance to play some one-on-one street hockey with the kids.

The local radio stations on site as well as KelownaNow gave away some stellar prizes, such as an ultimate BC Tree Fruits basket filled with all the market and cidery essentials.

This event ensured that no one left hungry, without fresh produce or without a smile on their face. A great part of the event is that portion of the proceeds will be going to the YMCA Okanagan!
