Three young men are facing potential charges after crashing a stolen vehicle on Monday in Kelowna.

According to RCMP, around 5:12 a.m. on Monday, they responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover in the 1700 block of Bryns Road. Witnesses told police that three men fled the scene on foot into a nearby field.

According to Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey, it appeared that the vehicle rolled end over end several times before coming to rest. Police confirmed that the vehicle, a Ford Explorer, had been stolen sometime overnight from the driveway of a home in Rutland.

“A Police Service Dog was called in to assist with a search for the suspects,” said O’Donaghey. “Three youth male suspects were taken into police custody without incident and examined at the scene by Emergency Health Services.”

Each man faces potential charges including theft of a motor vehicle. If you witnessed this incident and have not yet spoken to police you are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
