Pride week in the Okanagan is in full force this Saturday.

Things will get started at 11 a.m. with the highly anticipated pride rally and march.

Christy Clark, the Premier of B.C. will be walking in the Kelowna “We Are One” march. This is the first time in Kelowna’s history that a sitting Premier has walked in the pride march.

Also, MP Stephen Fuhr will be Grand Marshal.

The rally and march will begin at Stuart Park on Aug. 13, and goes to City Park where the Okanagan Pride festival is being held. Okanagan Pride Society says to bring your family, friends, voices, advocacy signs and your rainbow colours to Stuart Park before 10:45 a.m.

After the free march, it’s time to hit the beach.

The Pride Festival at the Beach kicks off at 11 a.m. and will run until 4 a.m.

It’s an all-day outdoor event that features live music, vendor fair, a beer/wine garden and tons of other activities.
