Wildfire burning not far from West Kelowna

UPDATE 2 p.m.: According to BC Wildfire Service, a wildfire near Jackpine Lake has been remapped at 13 hectares in size. 

Currently, 20 more fire fighters are enroute to the fire.

Original Story: 

BC Wildfire Service is responding to a six-hectare wildfire 18 kilometres west of West Kelowna.

Fire information officer Max Birkner told KelownaNow 27 firefighters, a bird dog, a helicopter and air tankers are on the scene fighting the blaze.

The fire is about 2.5 km east of Jackpine Lake resort, but at this time, structures are not being threatened.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
