A swimming advisory that was put into place for beaches in Lake Country has been lifted.

The advisories were put into place for Reiswig Regional Park on Wood Lake and Beasley Park because of high bacteria levels and poor water quality.

According to the Lake Country website, lake water “is not pristine, and beach water quality an fluctuate due to a number of factors including lake currents, runoff and the outflow of creeks, changing environmental factors and waterfowl and animal waste.”

For more information on beach water quality, people are asked to contact Interior Health at 250-862-4200.
