Do you have a love for art? What about a passion for volunteering? If you answered yes to either of these two questions, the Kelowna Art Gallery has just the thing for you.

The gallery is currently searching for volunteer tour guides for the 2016/2017 School Tour program.

Every year, more than 6,000 students throughout the Central Okanagan visit the Kelowna Art Gallery.

“Becoming a volunteer docent at the Gallery was one of the most rewarding new adventures I undertook last year,” said volunteer Marguerite Berry.

“Not only did I learn more about art, but I shared and experienced it along with hundreds of local students. The children continually surprised me by making the most remarkable observations and by creation their own extraordinary works of art.”

Tour guides will receive full instruction on the art in each of the exhibits and advance training about working with children and in the gallery setting, so don’t worry if you’re not an art star (yet).

People must be able to commit two hours a week, from September until June.

Applications can be found online or in person at the gallery. For more information, call 250-762-2226.
