Put away the umbrella, set aside that sweater, and don’t even think about packing up those shorts.

Summer may now be officially over, but Mother Nature is offering up one more week of warmth for sun-seekers in Kelowna.

Environment Canada is forecasting a solid week of sunshine and warm temperatures this week, with clear skies on the horizon from Monday to Friday, and temperatures reaching as high as 25°C.

The agency says Kelowna will leave behind its rainy weekend with sunny skies and a high of 25°C Monday. The skies will remain clear, or mostly clear, straight through to Friday, with highs hovering around 20°C all week long and not a drop of rain in sight.

The 20-degree temperatures are a few degrees higher than the average 17°C this time of year normally brings in Kelowna.

We recommend soaking up as much of that sun as you can, however, as Environment Canada says Oct.1 will mark a return to rainy skies. Just in time for the weekend, too.
