If you’re wondering how much Halloween candy to buy, you can use a map of Kelowna, put together using census data, to help you out.

Data company CensusMapper first rolled out their Canada-wide Halloween maps last year, with the Trick-or-Treat Density Estimator showing the number of children of prime trick-or-treat age (between the ages of 5 and 14) per doorbell in each area.

With the map, you can gauge how many trick-or-treaters you can expect to knock on your door this Halloween.

While they were anxiously waiting for 2016 census data, they built an estimator to give people their best projection for Halloween 2016, 5 years out from the last released census.

If you’re unsure, you can always fall back on the straight-up 2011 data from last year’s Halloween map or make your own map based on census data.

If you will be taking your own kids out door to door, head on over to their new Trick-or-Treat Density Estimator to find the best place to go trick-or-treating.

Just looking for Haunted Houses? They also have that covered.

Last year, the maps were viewed by over 150,000 Canadians over the course of three days.

The results from the census this May are still undergoing quality control and will be released this coming spring.
