Do you believe you can fly?

With the purchase of the new Redbird MCX flight simulator, Okanagan College can now help you find out.

The state of the art simulator is one of only two in Canada.

Whether you want to practice flying in Dubai or landing on a runway in the high arctic, the simulator has the ability to replicate landing in any airport, in any weather around the world.

Purchasing the simulator was made possible via a $125,000 pledge from Carson Air, a long-time partner of Okanagan College’s Commercial Aviation Program.

“We hope this gift challenges and inspires many students, as they work towards careers as professional aviators,” said Kevin Carson, President of Carson Air.

Kelowna based structural engineering firm ROV Consulting, also made purchasing the simulator possible with a $25,000 donation.

The simulator will operate out of the Southern Interior Flight Centre at Kelowna’s International Airport.

To date, Okanagan College’s Commercial Aviation program has graduated more than 312 pilots who are currently working around the world as professional aviators.
