UPDATE (noon): The snowfall warning released by Environment Canada for much of interior B.C. has been ended.

Original Story:

For those travelling in interior British Columbia, you can expect a whiteout.

Snow is already covering the Connector and parts of the Coquihalla Highway.

Just after 7:30 a.m., Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the area from Merritt to Kelowna.

Up to 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected.

Near Princeton, 4 cm of snow has already fallen this morning.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Drivers should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
