Santa Claus is coming to town for the 28th Annual Downtown Kelowna Light Up this Saturday.

On December 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Downtown Kelowna will officially kick-off the holiday season with exciting events throughout the community.

Santa Claus will be making a stop at the Kelowna Community Theatre for pictures and kids who visit can write their letters in the workshop.

The Rotary Centre for the Arts will be welcoming Olaf and Spiderman from noon until 4 p.m. along with the musical instrument zoo from Wentworth music.

TELUS PureFibre will be presenting Holiday Fun in Stuart Park with ice skating, a bouncy castle, elf games and fun with Park & Play.

At Waterfront Park, watch the Santa Shuffle Race and check out the Reindeer Round-Up Scavenger Hunt at the Okanagan Regional Library.

For a complete schedule of events visit the Downtown Kelowna website.

The Light Up is free for all to attend.

The musical entertainment schedule begins at 3 p.m. at the Stuart Park stage with live performances right up until the 5 p.m. Light Up.

The evening will finish off with Santa Claus lighting up the 28-foot tree in Stuart Park.

“Take in some of the free activities and entertainment, have a bite to eat, do some shopping and take in the holiday spirit,” said Downtown Kelowna Association Executive Director Peggy Athans. “Plan on spending the day Downtown and celebrate with us.”

This Saturday also kicks off free on-street parking in Downtown Kelowna on Saturdays throughout the holiday season in December, a tradition for 21 years.
