KelownaNow got an inside look into future at Okanagan College on Wednesday for the 11th annual Junior RoboCup.
The tournament has been held every year at Okanagan College’s Kelowna Campus where students from all over School District 23, western Canada and as far as Ontario see how their robots stack up against those from other schools.
The RoboCup is centered around a series of challenges such as search and rescue simulators, soccer games and even a dance competition. The team's bots are judged based on their performance with the top three teams qualifying to compete in the World RoboCup, which this year will be held in Japan.
Members of school teams have been learning programming, coding and intelligent design through building the robots over the semester and we're obviously excited to demonstrate their hard work.
