Some of the Okanagan’s top female chefs are getting together to host a special International Women’s Day dinner on March 8th at Quails’ Gate winery.

The 5-course collaborative fundraising dinner will be collecting all profits for The Canadian Mental Health Association Kelowna and Slow Food Thompson Okanagan.

This year’s celebration will bring together the culinary talents of Aman Dosanj (The Paisley Notebook, formerly Poppadoms), Dana Ewart (Joy Road Catering), Mona Johannson (Sunshine Farm), Jenna Pillon (Terrafina at Hester Creek) and Sandrine Raffault (Sandrine French Pastry and Chocolate).

Wine pairings will be donated by top female Winemakers from across the Okanagan Valley including Nikki Callaway (Quails’ Gate Winery), Pénélope Roche (Roche Wines), Heidi Noble (JoieFarm Winery), Severine Pinte (Le Vieux Pin).

Each Chef prepare one course under the International Women’s Day #BeBoldForChange theme.

“I wanted to bring together some truly inspirational Cooks and Winemakers with great stories, and they just happened to be female. So, it made sense to collaborate for International Women’s Day,” said Dosanj, who’s planning the event. “This type of line-up has never been done before and we thought that it was time. I’ve recently volunteered with the CMHA Kelowna and food has made such an impact on the participants’ lives – it’s now time to tell those stories and raise awareness.”

The dinner will be held from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Stewart Family Room at Quails’ Gate Winery. Tickets cost $149 and the price includes a reception drink by Harry Dosanj and a 5-course dinner with wine pairings. Reservations are required as there are a limited number of seats available.
