When you step out of the safety of your warm house this morning be sure to use caution.

Melting and refreezing in the Okanagan has left icy conditions on local roadways, Highway 97 included. DriveBC is also warning of slippery sections along Highway 33.

If you’re walking to work instead of driving, you might want to give yourself extra time as sidewalks are also icy.

The temperature is expected to reach 6C on Friday, according to Environment Canada. Later on, it will dip back to 0C.

You can expect a fairly warm weekend leading into an even warmer week next week, with a high of 9C on Monday. Showers will be on and off for the next few days.
