The Province is giving the people of the Central Okanagan a voice on the possibility of a new major roadway in Kelowna.
The Ministry of Transportation will be holding another round of open houses to input on improvement options for the Central Okanagan and Highway 97 corridor.
Public engagement is planned for March 27th, 28th and 30th in Lake Country, Kelowna and West Kelowna to get public opinion before the study team completes the screening and evaluation process.
This will be the ministry's third round of consultations with the public.
The public is welcome to attend the open houses scheduled for:

According to the Government of B.C., the William R. Bennett Bridge will reach capacity by 2040 and the approaches on the Kelowna side will reach capacity before then.
By then, a trip between Peachland and Lake Country is expected to take almost 15 minutes longer in the morning-peak hour and up to 24 minutes longer in the afternoon-peak hour.
