The sun is up and the cosplayers are out and about downtown Kelowna for the 2017 Kelowna Fan Xpo.

Thousands of Sci-Fi, comic book and anime lovers congregated at the Kelowna Community Theatre, Rotary Centre for the Arts and the Okanagan Regional Library to join in on all the amazing activities offered at this year's event.

Compared to last year, the event has nearly doubled in size and has expanded to two more downtown buildings.

The Rotary Centre for the Arts hosted a wide variety of booths that showcased everything from vintage comic books to locally created character themed makeup palettes.

The Okanagan Regional Library hosted a drop in game centre that featured every sci-fi or comic themed board and card game you could hope for. In addition to that, there was also an all Harry Potter themed section where participants could hunt for horcruxes and get their Azkaban mug shot taken.

Everywhere you looked you would see an immaculate costumes portrayal of some of the most beloved characters from favorite movies, cartoons, anime’s, and books. The level of pride the cosplayers have for their costumes is inspiring as many of their looks were hand crafted.
