The first redeye flight from Kelowna to Toronto made its maiden journey on Friday.
The WestJet flight took off from Kelowna International Airport (YLW) at 12:05 a.m. on Friday and landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at 7:15 a.m.
The return flight takes off from YYZ at 9:15 a.m. and lands in Kelowna at 10:57 a.m.

With an early arrival time in Canada’s largest city, travellers have time to catch on of nearly 200 WestJet-operated or partner flights to destinations all over the world.
“This service greatly increases connectivity options for travellers,” said Sam Samaddar, Airport Director. “It’s a great opportunity for our passengers to easily explore a number of destinations around the globe.”
This is the second flight that WestJet offers between Kelowna and Toronto.
Air Canada offers one flight between the two cities, that takes off exactly 12 hours after WestJet’s new redeye flight at 12:05 p.m.
“The addition of a second daily flight between Kelowna and Toronto demonstrates our commitment to offer Canadians more flights and great service for their travel dollar,” said Lee Lipton, WestJet Director, Network and Schedule Planning. “We thank our Okanagan Valley guests for their loyalty and support over the past 21 years and look forward to welcoming them on board this new service this summer.”
From now until June 29th, the new redeye flight will run four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
It’ll then jump up to seven days a week between June 30th and September 5th before reverting back to just three days a week, on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, until October 8th.
