The Regional Waste Reduction Office is hosting their semi-annual Trunk Sale on Saturday, May 27th at Okanagan College.

The trunk sale, which features over 150 vendors selling directly from their vehicles, promotes recycling. Rae Stewart, waste reduction facilitator, notes that the importance of this event lies in the ability to keep unnecessary and useful material out of our ever-growing landfill. He also adds the recent trendiness of second hand goods aids their efforts while creating a fun Saturday morning for shoppers.

Many charitable organizations, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Planet Earth Recycling, Kelowna and District SHARE Society, and the Canadian Diabetes Clothesline group, will be on hand to accept donations should vendors choose to donate remaining items at the end of the day.

Though this sale is full and currently has a waitlist for sellers, potential vendors are able to register for the Fall Trunk sale.

Keen on a good bargain? The Trunk Sale can be found at Okanagan College, 1000 KLO Road next to the student Residence Buildings from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. For more information, visit the Regional Waste Reduction website
