On Thursday, KF Aerospace announced plans for a “state-of-the-art” aerospace exhibition hall and conference centre at Kelowna International Airport.

The 50,000 square feet, $25-million project will sit across the runway from YLW's terminals and include a museum, conference suites, classrooms, airfield viewing gallery and more.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2020 and will coincide with KF Aerospace's 50th anniversary.

“We want to provide a firsthand aerospace experience for the public, from commercial and military operations to maintenance and manufacturing,” said KF Aerospace founder Barry LaPointe.

“By providing a central source for education, training, career and policy development, the Centre will be a proud home to our ever-expanding aerospace community.”

The KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence is planned to open in 2022.
