Kelowna residents are being invited to take part in a different sort of celebration to support the arts this month.

For the next three weeks, the Rotary Centre for the Arts and the Downtown Kelowna Business Association are inviting individuals and teams to check out Kelowna businesses to enjoy work from local artists in honour of Culture Days. Those who enter the "Culture Days Scavenger Hunt" will have the chance to win a plethora of prizes.

The scavenger hunt is a free event, which features works of 11 local artists matched throughout businesses downtown. Appropriate for the entire family, attendees can learn, take pictures of pieces, and more.

"The Rotary Centre for the Arts, the host, and Kelowna hub of Culture Days for the past three years is excited to launch this free family-friendly community experience featuring public art, cultural landmarks, local businesses and artists,” said Colleen Fitzpatrick, Executive Director, Rotary Centre for the Arts. “The Scavenger Hunt is easy to participate in and a great way to experience culture and art in our community."

Residents will be able to find the art in windows of local establishments. Below said pieces will be a QR code directing residents to the ActionBound mobile app, which will be how residents participate in the hunt.

Those who don't use smartphones or just want to use classic paper can pick up at hard copy from the Rotary Centre for the Arts Box Office at 420 Cawston Avenue.

Businesses that have chosen to participate include Bean Scene Coffee Works, Beach Avenue Clothing, Frock & Fellow, Mosaic Books, and more.
