1. California's 'Camp Fire' is now the deadliest in state history 

The 'Camp Fire' continues to rage in California and has now become the deadliest wildfire in state history claiming 42 lives. The fire has burned a total of 117,000 acres, forced the evacuation of 52,000 people, destroyed 6,453 homes and is only 30% contained. 

2. New Zealand paper botches Stan Lee obituary 

The Gisborne Herald may want to hire/fire an editor after a glaring misprint appeared on Tuesday's front page. The paper announced the death of movie director "Spike Lee" instead comic book genius "Stan Lee" who passed away on Monday.

3. McGill University holds student vote over sport's team's name

In a non-binding vote organized by McGill's student union, nearly 80% of students voted in favour of removing the name Redmen from the men’s varsity teams. While the name is said to stem from colours worn by the team in the 1920s, press and fans have often used Indigenous symbols, connotations and unofficial nicknames in relation to the team.

4. CNN files a lawsuit against Trump administration  

The relationship between President Trump's administration and CNN continues to deteriorate. The media giant has now filed a lawsuit against Trump's administration following the barring of correspondent Jim Acosta. The lawsuit cites First Amendment rights and asks for Acosta press pass to be returned. 

5. Amazon announces the locations of its new headquarters 

After running a year-long competition that drew interest from hundreds of cities and a number of states, Amazon has reportedly chosen New York City and Northern Virginia to split duty as its second headquarters.
