The fifth annual Kelowna Walk of Hope took place at Mission Creek Park on Sunday Morning.

The Walk of Hope is an annual event held to raise funds and awareness for Ovarian Cancer.

The event brought together dozens of people, all of whom have been touched by the disease in one form or another. Not only did the walk take place in Kelowna, but in over 40 other cities across the country, at the same time, adding to the powerful message.

Prior to embarking on their walk in solidarity, attendees had the chance to talk with other participants and learn more about the affects that Ovarian Cancer has not only physically, but mentally and emotionally, from a number of different speakers.

The Kelowna walk has raised just shy of 17,000 according to an online tally, and organizers are hopeful they will reach their goal of 22,000 by the end of the day.

An event powered by passion and determination, The annual Walk of Hope brought attendees smiles and motivation in abundance.
