Kelowna city council has unanimously decided to send a new development proposed for the South Pandosy Village to public hearing.
On Monday, councillors gave initial consideration to the six-storey mixed residential-commercial building proposed for Cedar Avenue.
The development would feature 17 residential units, a street level commercial unit and an at-grade parkade.
A single family home currently sits on the proposed site, which will require rezoning from the large lot housing zone to the urban centre commercial zone.
The south Pandosy area has been a hot spot for developers over the past few years, with several similar projects having recently been approved.
"The application is consistent with the future land use for the site, and the proposed land use achieves many of the urban infill policies including complete communities and providing compact urban form," said city planner Lydia Korolchuk on Monday.
While there is no exact date set for the public hearing, it's expected to be in the coming months.
