Summertime for entrepreneurs or start-ups can be tough because many regular year-round events take a long vacation and don't start until September.

But you've got a business to run.

You've got to keep it going and build on what you started yesterday.

Networking and meeting with like-minded individuals is a great way to stay on target and hash out ideas.

Here are eight events happening in Kelowna between July and August to help boost your business.

1. Building a web-based business on a budget

This event is happening on July 20th from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and it's free.

The workshop is geared toward early staged startups who want to learn to build web-based products.

Head to the HQ Boardroom at Accelerate Okanagan.

2. Coffee Collaborations

The BWB Okanagan has a recurring Coffee Collaborations event that's free and happens on the third Thursday of each month between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Expect a mix of round table discussions, networking and a chance to share successes and failures.

BWB also hosts a Storytelling Tuesday event but it doesn't start until September on the 12th.

3. Startup Basics: Customer Discovery

This event is put on by Accelerate Okanagan and is focused solely on the Customer Discovery process.

By the end of this event, anyone with a business idea or in the early stages of a startup will understand the process of how to gain feedback from potential customers.

This event takes place on July 26th at AC, between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. and the cost is $10.

4. Trep Cafe Tuesdays

Trep Cafe happens on Tuesdays between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the Okanagan coLab.

It's a place to meet informally with other entrepreneurs, startups and small business owners.

It's a place where you can talk through your business frustrations, and hopefully leave with solutions.

It happens every Tuesday and it's free.

5. How to pick a business partner

This event is run by the Okanagan coLab and takes place on July 26th between 12 pm. and 1:30 p.m.

This free event looks at the person with the winning business idea who needs a partner to help provide the capital.

It focuses on how to choose the ideal business partner.

6. Freelance Fridays

This event happens once a month and it's free.

The next one is happening on August 4th at the Okanagan coLab.

It's a chance for solo-entrepreneurs to get together, brainstorm and be part of a community.
