Looking to score some great deals on a sunny Saturday?

If that's the case, look no further than the latest Trunk Sale at Okanagan College this weekend.

The sale, which will run from 8 a.m. until noon, is put on by the Regional Waste Reduction Office and promotes local reuse and recycling.

“It’s a giant yard sale on wheels, similar to the boot sales famous in the U.K.” said Rae Stewart, waste reduction facilitator with the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO). "Our Trunk Sales are all about reducing, reusing, recycling and ultimately having less material land in our one remaining landfill.”

Stewart says the biannual event is great family fun and, with 150 vendors on site and many more on the waiting list, there's always deals to be had.

As the name suggests, people sell the items from the trunk of their car or van, or in the back of a pickup, and there is no charge to the vendor.

For those looking to buy rather than sell, everyone is encouraged to come out and shop on Saturday at parking lot 17 at Okanagan College.

In addition, the Okanagan Mission Lions will be on site assisting with the event and hosting a pancake breakfast sale to fuel you up before the shop.

Visit the RDCO website for more information on the sale or call 250-469-6250 if you want more information.
