Students and faculty of Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School are elated with the opening of their new $12.5 million athletics and wellness centre.
To mark the occasion, a whole-school assembly with 800 students was held earlier in the week, something faculty say has not happened in many years due to a lack of space.

"Belonging to powerful communities is essential for a fulfilling life and the athletics and wellness centre serves as a unifying force for our Aberdeen Hall community," said Chris Grieve in a statement, the head of the school."This facility completes the school's 20-year master campus plan and assists the school in reaching its strategic priorities. It exemplifies our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that prepares students for success in all aspects of life."
The statement added that the centre addresses the pressing need for physical education space while providing training facilities for the athletic teams.

The centre will also host various dances, assemblies and other forms of showcasing talents and performing arts.
“This exciting addition to the campus serves as a vibrant hub for sports, fitness, student life and the arts,” added the news release.
The facility was built with the help of donations from the community and Aberdeen Hall families.
