Just days after an Edmonton man visited the BC Interior and had his car window smashed "because he was from Alberta," another interesting situation happened to an out-of-province visitor.

Jessica Schmigelsky was visiting Kelowna this week. She posted to Facebook explaining that she was a little wary to travel to BC because of horror stories from other visitors in the recent months.

Schmigelsky experienced the exact opposite of what she expected, however, as a complete stranger left a compassionate note on her car.

"Before we came to Kelowna, we heard about the vandalism to vehicles with Alberta license plates," said Schmigelsky. "We were at the beach today and when we came back to the rental car, we saw this. At first, we thought it would be a shitty note, but it was completely opposite."

The note read "We're glad you're here in BC with us! Welcome." Schmigelsky mentioned that she felt awestruck after reading the purple heart.

"Our hearts are full, and this restores all sorts of faith in humanity. Thank you to the kind stranger who made our day!"
