On Tuesday, we put out a call to the public to help us put together an up-to-date list of patios that are open for business in the Central Okanagan.
With the restrictions that went into place on Monday regarding indoor dining in British Columbia, we wanted to give people an easy way to support local.
That meant the creation of an in-depth list of Central Okanagan patios that are currently open for business, as well as information on their hours, menus, heater situation and whether they're pet friendly.
Since Tuesday, we've been bombarded with more than 50 emails from grateful business owners and a number of other messages and comments suggesting we include certain places on the list.
Everyone who emailed us is on the list and we've managed to get a number of other spots on there as well, but we know we're still missing a number of places across the Central Okanagan.
This list will be constantly evolving, so if we missed your restaurant, bar, pub, cafe or brewery, please send an email to josh@kelownanow.com and we'll get you on there!
For now, however, this is the list we've put together, which has been split into six different regions to make the search for a spot to eat or grab a drink just a little bit easier.
Whether you're in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country or anywhere in between, you should be able to find a few patio options close by that fit your needs and desires.
So without further adieu, here's the first edition of our spring 2021 patio list that we hope will help you support local during these difficult times for the hospitality industry!

- Opens at 11:30 am daily, closes at 9 pm Tuesday-Sunday and 10 pm Friday-Saturday. Closed Mondays.
- Patio is dog friendly.
- Menu features pizza, pasta, salads and appetizers.
Bean Scene
371 Bernard Ave.
- Bernard Avenue location’s rooftop patio is open, other locations have open patios as well. Hours vary.
- Dog friendly within Interior Health rules, but no patio heaters.
- Will serve to the patio for complete outdoor service if requested.
Bohemian Cafe
524 Bernard Ave.
- Open Wednesday-Sunday from 8 am until 2 pm.
- Patio along Bernard Avenue that can seat 44 people. Partially covered, not heated. Pets can be tied up outside the patio.
- Fun and eclectic breakfast and brunch spot with a variety of great menu options.
Boston Pizza
545 Harvey Ave.
- Open daily from 11 am until 10 pm.
- Heated patio that can fit 22 guests. Not pet friendly.
- Full Boston Pizza menu available and the special appy hour menu is available all day while the indoor dining is closed.
Bouchons Bistro
105-1180 Sunset Dr.
- Open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 pm to 10 pm.
- New patio now open with heaters, must make a reservation by calling 250-763-6596 or by going online.
- Fine dining in downtown Kelowna.
Bread Co.
363 Bernard Ave.
- Open 7 am until 3 pm daily, but doesn’t open until 8 am on Sundays.
- Small patio along Bernard Avenue is open. Not heated, but is pet friendly.
- Specialty drinks, delicious pastries, artisan bread and plenty of lunch options.
Bright Jenny Coffee
984 Laurel Ave.
- Open daily from 8 am until 4 pm.
- Plenty of socially distanced seating. There are heaters and the patio is pet friendly as well!
- Some of the best coffee in Kelowna and other snacks and drinks you'd expect at a cafe.
Cactus Club
1370 Water St. (Kelowna Yacht Club)
- Open daily from 11 am until 10 pm.
- Indoor and outdoor patios both open with all of the full-length windows open. Both are heated, but not pet friendly. However, dogs can be tied up just outside the patio.
- The full Cactus Club menu is available.
CRAFT Beer Market
257 Bernard Ave.
- Open daily from 11 am until 11 pm.
- Large rooftop patio with heaters, umbrellas over some tables and partial shade. Not pet friendly.
- A large menu with a variety of options and over 100 craft beers on tap.
Dosa Crepe Cafe
523 Bernard Ave.
- Open daily from 11 am until 9 pm.
- Small patio on the street. No heated, but pet friendly (we believe, check with the restaurant first).
- South Indian cuisine made with the freshest ingredients.
Earl's On Top
211 Bernard Ave.
- Open daily from 11 am until 10 pm.
- Rooftop patio is now open. The patio has great commercial-grade heaters to keep you warm, but it's not pet friendly.
- Full Earl's menu available.
Eurobean
1320 Water St.
- Open daily from 7 am until 5 pm.
- Nice patio right next to the Delta Grand Hotel. Not heated, but pet friendly.
- Small cafe that offers “great food” and “the best coffee in Kelowna!”
Flask Social House (FSH)
101-1405 St. Paul St.
- Open daily until 8 pm, opens at 11 am on weekdays and 10 am on weekends.
- Patio open but not heated at the moment, however, upgrades will be happening soon!
- Menu currently has a variety of options like burgers, sandwiches, wings and power bowls, but a new summer menu will launch soon. Brunch available every day until 2 pm.
Jack's on Bernard
231 Bernard Ave.
- Open daily from 5-10 pm.
- A 20-seat patio out front. Heat sources are in the works and it's bring your own blanket.
- Great pizza, plenty of cool cocktails and other drinks, as well as happy hour daily from 5-7 pm.
Jackknife Brewing
727 Baillie Ave.
- Open 4-9 pm Thursday, 1-9 pm Friday and Saturday, 1-8 pm Sunday, closed Monday-Wednesday.
- Large patio space with picnic tables and lights. No heaters, but well protected from the elements.
- In the words of the brewery: "Weird Beer. Classic Pizza."
Kelly O'Bryans
262 Bernard Ave.
- Open daily from 11 am until 11 pm.
- A large heated patio in the heart of downtown Kelowna, which is not pet friendly.
- Full pub menu with a variety of offerings, including their beloved Pachos!
Kelowna Beer Institute
1346 Water St.
- Open daily starting at 11:30 am (11 am on Saturday), closes at 9 pm Sunday-Wednesday and 10 pm Thursday-Saturday.
- One street level patio with umbrellas at a few tables, but no heaters. Dogs can be tied up outside the fence. Ask at the brewery if the upstairs patio is open as well.
- The former Tree Brewing Institute has plenty of great beers on tap and a number of classic brewery menu items to eat.
Kettle River Brewing
731 Baillie Ave.
- Open noon until 8 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays, noon until 10 pm Thursday-Friday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
- Patio is heated with small space heaters, so dress warm. Also pet friendly as long as they're on a leash and well-behaved.
- Plenty of great beers on tap and a full food menu courtesy of Provisions Kitchen.
Memphis Blues BBQ House
289 Bernard Ave.
- Open daily from 11 am until 8:30 pm.
- Small 10-seat patio on Bernard Avenue. Not heated, but you can tie your dog to the outside of the patio fence.
- Full Memphis Blues menu with delicious BBQ food available.
Micro Bar & Bites
1500 Water St.
- Open Monday-Friday from 3-10 pm, weekends from 2-10 pm.
- Small patio on Water Street with heaters. You can tie dogs up on the outside.
- Full menu available, plenty of great appetizers and other small plates, plus plenty of cool and delicious cocktails!
OAK + CRU Social Kitchen & Wine Bar
1310 Water St. (In the Delta Grand Hotel)
- Open 3-10 pm daily with brunch service starting at 8 am on weekends.
- Large patio with 54 extra seats recently added, as well as more heaters. Not pet friendly. Outdoor dining domes and the Luminescence experience still available.
- Plenty of food and drink options with various specials (like brunch) throughout the week.
Okanagan Street Food

- Open Tuesday-Saturday from 8 am until 3 pm.
- Seating for outdoor dining available. Not heated, but it is pet friendly. Takeout available as well.
- Serves elevated street food for breakfast and lunch.
Pulp Fiction

- Open daily from 8 am until 5 pm.
- Small patio area on a sunny corner of downtown Kelowna. Not heated, but “VERY dog friendly.”
- Funky cafe offering a variety of tasty drinks and snacks.
Red Bird Brewing
1086 Richter St.
- Open Tuesday through Sunday from early afternoon until late in the evening, but extending hours to 7 days per week starting soon.
- Plenty of patio space, partial covered and heated. Dog friendly.
- Lots of Red Bird and guest beers on tap, as well as cider and wine. Limited menu that includes gourmet paninis and pretzels, with gourmet smokies on the way.
Rustic Reel Brewing
760 Vaughan Ave.
- Open 1-9 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11 am until 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, 10 am until 8 pm Sundays. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
- Large 70-seat heated patio and half of it is pet friendly. Blankets are available free of charge as well!
- A great selection of house-made craft beers as well as a few snacks and German-inspired means on the menu.
Sprout Bread

- Open daily from 7:30 am until 4 pm, opens at 9:30 am on Sundays.
- Small patio space in the laneway that houses Sprout Bread and many other cool local stores.
- Cafe menu with sandwiches, pastries, coffee and more.
Sunny's Modern Diner

- Open daily from 7:30 am until 3 pm.
- Small patio out front with heaters. Dogs can be tied up on the outside of the patio.
- Great breakfast and brunch spot, recently featured on Food Network Canada.
Train Station Pub

- Open daily from 11 am until 10 pm.
- Heated patio with plenty of seating.
- Full pub menu available.
Vice & Virtue Brewing
1033 Richter St.
- Open from 2-8 pm Wednesday-Friday and 1-8 pm on weekends. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
- A small patio in front is now joined by a large open area behind the brewery. It's not heated and not pet friendly, unfortunately.
- Vice & Virtue has plenty of house-made craft beers, as well as a few snack items and full plates on their food menu.
Central Kelowna
Beet’N Boo’s Bistro & Catering

Copper Brewing

- Two patios. One is heated, while the other is a temporary patio with no heaters. Blankets are available. Both patios are pet friendly.
- Around 20 beers on tap, most of which are brewed in house. Limited food selection that currently includes gourmet hot dogs. You can also bring your own food.
Cora Breakfast and Lunch

Mickie's Pub

- Patio that seats 70 with a small heated area and a comfy couch area with a firepit. One part of the patio is also pet friendly if they're on leash and well-behaved.

- Upside is a small craft organic cidery with 10 varieties of delicious gluten-free ciders. Takeout is also available right now if you call 778-760-9347.
Whisk Bakery & Cafe

- Open Tuesday-Saturday from 8 am until 4 pm.
- Cute little patio outside the store that has umbrellas over tables. Not heated, pets welcome.
- Breakfast items, sandwiches, coffee and more available.
WINGS

- Open Tuesday-Sunday from 11 am until 7 pm, possible later temperature and weather permitting.
- Patio is heated and guests are encouraged to bring their own blanket. Not pet friendly.
- Full menu available, which includes a large selection of delicious wings of course!
Lake Country
Block One Restaurant

- Picnic area with limited heaters and fire tables, so dress for the weather. Dogs are very welcome in the picnic area, just not in the retail shop.
- Take-away charcuterie boards and wine available on site, but guests are also welcome to bring their own food!
The Jammery

- Open daily from 8 am until 3 pm
- A large covered patio space as well as picnic tables in a grassy area out front. Grassy area may be pet friendly, but you'll have to check with the restaurant.
- One of the best breakfast and brunch spots in town! Takeout and delivery within 20 km of The Jammery also available.
Turtle Bay Pub

- Open daily until 9 pm. Opens at 11 am Monday-Thursday, 9 am Friday-Sunday.
- Patio dining available, as is heated Igloo dining by reservation. No minors allowed on the patio.

- Large menu with a variety of choices for every taste and diet. Menu is primarily celiac friendly.
Blu Saffron Bistro

Il Mercato Social Kitchen

- Open Tuesday-Thursday from 3 pm until late, Friday-Sunday from noon until late.
- Partially heated 60-seat patio. Bring your own blanket in case or dress for the weather. Not pet friendly.
- Specializes in Italian food and hospitality, as well as BC wines. Neapolitan style pizzas, hand made pasta, entrees, fresh salads.

- JPC includes Crown and Thieves, Black Swift and The Hatch Wineries, as well as Truck 59 Cidery. Hours of operation for all four available online.
- All properties have patios or outdoor space, including a rooftop patio at Crown and Thieves. All have heaters and are pet friendly (except Crown and Thieves). Kids welcome as well!
