The Autism Okanagan Charity Golf Classic is set to return for its second year.

Autism Okanagan, in partnership with Vrecko Real Estate Group, will host the golf tournament at Kelowna Springs Golf Club on Aug. 11.

There will be 128 golfers participating in the event, which includes a shotgun start for Texas Scramble, as well as course games, contests, prize opportunities, dinner, presentations, and silent and live auctions.

This year’s goal is to raise $60,000 for Autism Okanagan, and 100% of the proceeds will go towards supporting individuals and families affected by autism.

Last year’s tournament raised $30,000, which allowed Autism Okanagan to support over 100 kids with autism in the Valley.

Autism Okanagan is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that empowers members to actively engage in a variety of sports, including adapted golf, hockey and skiing.

The charity's programs also encompass vital life and social skills development.

Autism affects one in 45 children in BC, according to Autism Okanagan.

All contributions stay in the Okanagan, funding program operations, expanding existing programs and creating new activities.
