Gary Muchula is a football fan who has always dreamt of attending the Super Bowl.

That dream could now become reality as soon as February after the West Vancouver resident’s recent life-changing lottery win.

Muchula matched all six numbers in the Oct. 20 Lotto 649  draw to win a whopping $10.2 million prize.

After buying the ticket from London Drugs at Park Royal, he was out picking up a newspaper when he decided to check his ticket at a gas station.

“I didn’t have my glasses and I thought, ‘that can’t be right,’” he recalled.

“I checked it three or four times and went up to the girl at the counter and said ‘I’m not sure, but I think I won the lottery!’”

The first person Muchula told was his partner, who was walking the dog at the time.

When he informed her of his good fortune, she was in disbelief and responded: “Really? You’re not kidding?!”

While it looks like Muchula will be in attendance at Super Bowl XVI in Los Angeles early next year, he’ll be travelling before then.

He plans on putting some of his prize money towards a Christmas vacation in Barbados as well.
