The owners of BNA Brewing Co. & Eatery are looking to add an exciting new expansion to their downtown location.

In an application submitted late last month, BNA Hospitality Inc. is looking to offer a “saloon-style speakeasy” to a portion of the second floor.

Dubbed “Hello Darlin’,” the new space would be accessed through a secret door in the existing lounge space and it would have its own separate exit, says the application.

“The food would be casual fare, prepared using our existing kitchen and served until midnight,” says the application.

“We are hoping to be able to welcome a maximum of 125 people in the Hello Darlin’ room, which we believe will help manage the flow of people and dispersal of late night patrons.”

The capacity for the other indoor space and patio would be reduced to accommodate the new space and keep the total overall capacity at 500.

The space would be open from 8 pm to 2 am Thursday through Saturday with an option for private group rentals.

The application says the new space would improve BNA’s current offerings.

“It will give locals and tourists alike another reason to visit us, it will keep things dynamic for our staff and help us continue to enhance the food and beverage landscape in Kelowna,” the application says.

This application will be brought forward to Kelowna City Council seeking support but the provincial Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch will have the final say on the expansion.
